GRAEME BLACK FOR 1436 RUNWAY SHOW OPENS THE EDINBURGH INTERNATIONAL FASHION FESTIVAL

GRAEME BLACK FOR ERDOS 1436 opened the Edinburgh International Fashion Festival 2014 tonight, Friday 18th July with an exclusive collection designed especially for the event. Celebrating the centuries’ old tradition in cashmere master-craftsmanship (that began over two hundred years ago, when Scotland first traded with China in the fine yarns that formed the heart of a national Scottish cashmere tradition), the show cemented the relationship and both cultures' mutual respect for a time honoured legacy of craft and the cutting edge techniques of modern industry.

Scotland and China: countries with a long shared history in cashmere production looking forward to a bright future working and creating together.

The Edinburgh International Fashion Festival is now in its third year and the 2014 festival was opened by the showing of the exclusive 1436 Cashmere collection in the city at the National Museum of Scotland.

A post show dinner was held for VIP guests at the Regent Terrace home of Graeme Black, the Scottish born Creative Director of 1436 and co-hosted by Angelica Cheung: Editor-in-Chief of Chinese Vogue.

In honour of the guests and the event, Craig Sandle, award winning chef of the Waldorf Astoria (Caledonian) Hotel, Edinburgh, presented a menu specially created for the evening based on a fusion of Scottish and Chinese culinary themes.
