ABOUT LAST NIGHT - CELEBS TURN OUT FOR EMELI SANDÉ CHARITY GALA!

THE SERENGE PROJECT Plus performance from Mica Paris & DJ set by Zara Martin

 

AT Chak89, Mitcham, Surrey, On Thursday 18th September 

 

The event hosted by Radio DJ Nihal saw the fashion and celebrity world come together at the Award Winning Chuk89 venue in Micham Surrey to celebrate and support the fantastic work of the Serenge Project. Multi Platinum singer Emeli Sandé, Mica Paris and DJ/Presenter Zara Martin were among performances. Guests included Danny Dyer, Rosie Fortescue, Oliver Proudlock, Sam Faiers, Lauren Pope, Zara Martin, Lilah Parsons and Ola Jordan, Vincent Samone and Flavia Cacace from BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, top model judge Leroy Dawkins and TV presenter Prince Cassius 

 

Throughout the evening guests enjoyed performances from comedian Doc Brown, soulful singing sensation Mica Paris and an exclusive acoustic set by platinum-selling artist Emeil Sandé. A sensational three course traditional Indian meal was served from Chak89Zara Martin took to the decks during the after party, which got everyone dancing into the late hours of the night. Guests and celebrities alike were seen enjoying the night of exclusive drinks and music. 

 

The charity, which has the backing of the International platinum singer and Brit Award Winner Emeli Sande and a cause which is close to her heart. Named after the birthplace of Emeli's father in Zambia, the charity in accordance with Oxfam supports the local community with education and medical help. 

 

Emeli commented on the fantastic “The Serenge project”: ‘I had the opportunity to fulfil the dream of a lifetime, and go to Zambia, the birthplace of my father earlier this year.  It was wonderful to see the amazing work that  Oxfam have done and continue to do. Having had the chance to visit my fathers hometown, this wonderful charitable donation will enable us to help fund causes dear to us on a personal level ands specific to his home village and made a sizeable difference to many lives:” 

 

Chak89 opened in 2003 as a venue for 200 people by 2009 the venue and restaurant had expanded to cater to up-to 650 people. Now catering for the grandest banquets, celebrity appearances, musical performances weddings and business conferences all take place at the iconic Surrey venue.
