BELSTAFF, THE EARL OF MARCH AND F1 DRIVER MAX CHILTON CELEBRATE THE LAUNCH OF THE AW14 BELSTAFF BY GOODWOOD COLLECTION

The Earl of March, Max Chilton, Belstaff CEO Gavin Haig and JAB CEO Peter Harf, plus a number of celebrities and the crème of London’s social scene, gathered in Belstaff’s Bond Street flagship to celebrate the arrival of the new Belstaff by Goodwood collection for Autumn/Winter 2014.

Gavin Haig, Belstaff CEO, welcomed the guests to Belstaff House and gave a short introduction to the new collection. He then handed the floor to motor-racing commentator Toby Moody, who hosted a question and answer session with Lord March and Max Chilton, focusing on racing now and then, Max’s season so far, and the upcoming Goodwood Revival - which was then toasted by all.

The new Belstaff by Goodwood capsule collection is comprised of four jackets – two leathers and two in waxed cotton. For the leather range, two of the most iconic of racing jacket silhouettes are celebrated: the leather “Perfecto" in the Stroker, and the Cafe' Racer in the Veetwin. The wax jackets both incorporate Lord March’s family tartan the Gordon, with the eponymous Gordon jacket utilising Belstaff’s original "Trialmaster" jacket design and the Charlesworth that of the traditional racing Blouson. All names were chosen by Lord March for their relevance to the motor-racing world.

The Earl of March said “It is fantastic to be continuing this exciting collaboration that brings two iconic British brands together. With our long-standing heritage in motor sports and the up and coming Revival the launch of this collection is a natural and exciting next step.  Motor racing at Goodwood has always been social, fun and stylish. Inevitably, fashion has become an important part of what Goodwood is all about.”
