Following M&S’ commitment to continually seek out new creative collaborations, M&S has worked with Marko Matysik to create a capsule collection that sits within the Autograph brand, another inspiring project to come from the M&S Studio @ Fashion Street.
Marko is one of the fashion industries most well regarded multidisciplinary creatives, having worked as a fashion designer, illustrator and style writer. He contributes to the likes of Vogue and reports behind the scenes on forthcoming seasonal trends.
The Marko Matysik for Autograph collection encompasses timeless femininity, with gentle clean lines modern cuts and bold original prints creating elegant, individual standout pieces.
Lady like little black dresses have been designed with a celebration of the female form in mind, from a stunning floor length dress with a gentle 3/4 sleeve, to a sexy knee length frock with an asymmetric neck and elegant slit detail. Fabrics are heavy yet fluid adding an air of femininity.
Marko’s unusual use of beauty products to create illustrations has enabled him to produce stunning pieces of artwork. These have evolved into the two T-shirt prints within the collection. The luxuriously drapery fabric and simple cut give the T-shirts a real modern edge.
The finishing touch within the collection is a fun print scarf with quirky images of the tools used to create his favourite artwork. Eye shadows and lipstick are used in sweeping yet controlled brushstrokes to create a strong mesmerising image.
