Electric Fashion launches at the Victoria and Albert Museum

Electric Fashion launches at the Victoria and Albert Museum

Electric Fashion, a new luxury fashion book published by Skira, launched last night in London. The book presents the wardrobe of fashion collector and writer Christine Suppes, as shot by photographer Frederic Aranda over a 5-year period. The book’s title is derived from Suppes’ career as founder and editor of one of the Internet’s early fashion magazines, Fashion Lines. Excerpts from the e-magazine’s original Editors Notes, with new text and stories written by Suppes, accompany Aranda’s photographs of the collection.

Exhibited at the launch were 20 of Aranda’s photographs and 24 garments, each featured in the book, by designers such as Chanel, Alexander McQueen, Rodarte, and Christian Lacroix.  The world-renowned musician Tomoyasu Hotei performed a number of tracks from his forthcoming album, including his most recognised song ‘Battle Without Honor or Humanity’, which was the main theme in the film ‘Kill Bill’. Attendees of the event included Anna Cleveland, Andreja Pejic, and singers Sam Less and Victoria Daineko.
