The Anatomy of a T.M.Lewin Shirt

The classic button-front business shirt is an everyday wardrobe staple for millions of style conscious men from across all corners of the globe.

But there is nothing everyday or ordinary about a T.M.Lewin formal shirt.

Each and every one is extra special, designed in house from fabric through to finished product and precision made with a real passion for detail. We only ever use the best quality cotton, along with over a century’s worth of Jermyn Street shirt making expertise.

Thomas Mayes Lewin started selling his innovative ‘coat shirts’ in London’s famous street of shirt makers back in 1898. Today, over a hundred years on, each T.M.Lewin shirt is still constructed with the same passion and expert eye for detail.

And today they come in an extensive range of fabrics and finishes too, with extra trims, different collar shapes and a choice of double or single cuff. Seams are double stitched, so they have the smoothest finish possible and feel much more comfortable against the skin than standard shirt seams. And every button is carefully lock stitched on, so it won’t fall off.

And then there’s the fit. At T.M.Lewin we believe that fit is everything. Because a truly top quality shirt will only stand out if it fits to perfection. So we craft our shirts in choice of fits with up to four sleeve length options. All you have to do is decide which one works best for your body shape.

Our Regular Fit Shirt is cut to the traditionally British Jermyn Street shape and is ideal for broader body frames, or if you just like to wear your shirt with a little room to spare.

Our best-selling Slim Fit Shirt is our elegant all-rounder, tapering gently in towards the waist for a closer body fit, while the modern Fitted Shirt is more streamlined across the chest and shoulders than the Slim. And now in a new range of colours and fabrics is the Super Fitted - our closest, most contemporary shirt fit to date.
