Paul Costelloe exhibiting AW14 Collection at London Collections: Men

For the 2nd consecutive year British designer Paul Costelloe will be supporting London Collections: Men with a sartorial collection true to the British heritage of its creator. This exquisite range will be unveiled in the Hospital Club!s private room, the Bellini Bar during London Collections: Men (6th-8th January 14).

Inspiration for the collection is in keeping with the brands British Heritage, incorporating a respect for the craftsmanship of the tailor and weaver in a contemporary manner. Fabric is central to the Paul Costelloe line from design to construction. The finest Italian inspired twisted yarns and blended Jaspe yarns are used to create a mix of modern yet classic British tweed and micro-checks, with a salt and pepper colour base that!s infused with highlights of mustard and Chianti.

Attention to detail is key, with quality finishes and sharp styling reflected in two-button peaks and notch lapels. Whilst, waistcoats are also integral to the AW14 line and are either crafted in the same fabric as the suit or designed with a slight subtle contrast in colour interpretation.

The collection continues with an extension of the popular Cheltenham sub- brand (initially introduced for SS14). This collection is steeped in tradition with only the finest of British weavers being used in the creation. The Cheltenham line draws on inspiration from archive designs in keeping with its heritage, whilst being reworked to reflect the present day of eccentricity in a striking bold colour influence.

Tartan is prominent in the AW14 line and is central for Paul Costelloe Man this season. The introduction of Blackwatch and Lindsay tartans have been modernised to include an antique finish with flamboyant faux pony-hair trimmings. Whilst coating is represented by a range of Herringbone coats and bold over-check jackets with hints of velvet and corduroy.

Pre-Raphaelite painters and dark Art Nouveau interiors are also referenced in the collection. Opulent and luxurious fabrics in the form of velvet and smooth satin are infused together along with dark teal and navy with a hint of burnished gold to create a premium aesthetic.

Finally, making its debut at London Collections: Men this season is the Costelloe and Sons diffusion line, which has been developed for the younger market. This line sees Paul Costelloe Man changing direction with a much slimmer silhouette that is directed to the more fashion-conscious younger gentleman.
